Fenix ​​​​​​PD40R V3.0 is a small EDC flashlight with a maximum light output of 3000 lumens, with a rotary switch, a fast USB-C charging port, a battery level indicator and an efficient 21700 battery with a capacity of 5000 mAH. . Version 3.0 is distinguished by even better beam parameters, which now allow you to illuminate the target at a distance of up to 500 meters! The user also has an SOS mode that transmits an emergency signal in Morse code.

Characteristics

The flashlight is made of anodized A6061-T6 aircraft aluminum, making it lightweight and resistant to mechanical damage. The transverse surface carving prevents the flashlight from slipping out of your hand and gives it a modern look.

The optical system is protected by a crown (lifting head elements), which protects the glass if dropped or placed on an uneven surface.

The flashlight measures only 138 mm, and its weight with a 21700 5000 mAh battery is less than 200 g, so it can accompany us not only on trips, camping or hunting, but also in everyday activities.

Using a flexible clip (removable), the flashlight can be attached and carried on a belt, backpack or bag for easy access when needed.

In the new version of the flashlight, the manufacturer has abandoned the rear switch, as a result of which the flashlight has acquired a new function, the so-called. candle mode, that is, the ability to set the light vertically. This allows you to illuminate the inside of a tent, room or other enclosed space, where the light can be reflected evenly.

Universal lighting

The light source is a new generation LUMINUS SST70 LED diode, emitting a maximum light flux of 3000 lumens at a distance of up to 405 m.
White light reduces eye fatigue, ensures more natural color reproduction and better visibility of details.

The flashlight uses anti-reflective glass with high light transmission and a smooth reflector, thanks to which a wide beam of light can effectively illuminate objects up to 405 m. Such optical parameters allow not only to illuminate distant targets, but also to effectively work in confined spaces, so the Fenix ​​​​​​PD40R V3.0 will be perfect as a tourist flashlight, hunting flashlight or tactical lighting.

Operating modes

The flashlight offers 4 constant light modes: turbo, high, medium, low and 2 flash modes: strobe and SOS. The smaller amount has a significant impact on the functionality and clarity of the interface. Most of us use only 2 or 3 light modes in our daily activities, so, taking into account user opinions, Fenix ​​​​consciously limited their range. The element that distinguishes the Fenix ​​​​PD40R is the 3000 lumen turbo mode, in which the flashlight works for up to 160 minutes! In the low 30 lumen mode, the flashlight works for almost 4 days.

Rotary mechanical switch

The Fenix ​​​​​​PD40R mechanical rotary switch is used to turn on and change the light mode. The ring operates smoothly, its operation is instinctive and convenient for everyday use. The mechanical switch is reliable and safe, and its operation is not disturbed by magnetic fields.

Power supply

The flashlight is powered by a 21700 battery with a capacity of up to 5000 mAh! The battery used has almost twice the capacity of a standard 18650 battery, which affects efficiency and longer runtime.

According to the manufacturer, the 21700 battery allows for up to 160 minutes of operation in turbo mode and almost 4 days of operation in low mode. By connecting the ALF-18 adapter, the flashlight can also be powered by a standard 18650 cell.

Battery level indicator

Thanks to the battery level indicator (diode on the body) and low voltage warning, we can control the operation of the flashlight and manage the remaining power supply. When the flashlight is turned on, the indicator informs us of the battery status for 3 seconds.

• glowing green diode: 100-85%,
• flashing green diode: 85-50%,
• glowing red diode: 50-25%,
• red LED flashes: 25-1%.

Fast charging port

The Fenix ​​​​​​PD40R V2.0 has an integrated USB-C charging port, allowing you to charge the battery very quickly without removing it from the flashlight. The 5000 mAh 21700 battery can be charged in just 3.5 hours!

The USB-C port also allows you to charge the flashlight from a portable power supply, significantly increasing the mobility and capabilities of the Fenix ​​​​​​PD40R. The socket is protected from moisture, water and dust with a rubber plug.

Security

The flashlight uses several protection systems, including: reverse polarity protection, low voltage warning, and “smart protection” against overheating.

Thanks to the high IP68 protection class, the flashlight is resistant to complete immersion in water (30 minutes at a depth of 2 m), dust and dirt, and falls.
